Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled barista / head barista to join our speciality coffee shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in high-quality coffee, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience in a fast-paced, team-orientated environment.

This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in coffee craft, consistency, and service, with opportunities to grow and take ownership within the team. All positions are paid, including internships.

Duties

Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and speciality beverages to consistent standards.
Dial in espresso, monitor extraction, and adjust grind settings as needed.
Maintain excellent workflow during busy periods while ensuring drink quality.
Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service and engage with customers about coffee.
Support and guide junior team members (for Head Barista level).
Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the bar, equipment, and service areas.
Follow and uphold food safety and hygiene standards.
Assist with stock control, ordering, and daily opening/closing routines.

Experience

Previous experience in a speciality coffee environment is preferred.
Strong understanding of espresso extraction, milk texturing, and workflow.
For Head Barista: experience in dialling in, training staff, and managing bar operations.
Passion for coffee and willingness to continuously learn.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
