Full job description

We're looking for a passionate and ambitious Head Chef to lead the kitchen at Anxious Pete's.

This role would suit an experienced Head Chef, or a strong Sous Chef who's ready to take the next step in their career and help shape the future of an independent pizzeria.

At Anxious Pete's, we're serious about pizza, but we also believe cooking should be creative, collaborative and enjoyable. We're constantly experimenting with different styles, techniques and weekly specials, and we want someone who shares that enthusiasm.

This is not a role where you'll simply follow a set menu. We're looking for someone who wants to contribute ideas, develop dishes, mentor chefs and take ownership of the kitchen.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Leading and developing the kitchen team
Creating staff rotas and managing labour effectively
Placing food orders and managing stock levels
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation and food safety
Training and mentoring junior chefs to help them develop their skills
Working closely with management on menu development
Creating and running weekly specials
Helping drive new ideas, pizza styles and seasonal menu changes
Ensuring consistency and quality across all food leaving the kitchen

What We're Looking For

Previous Head Chef experience, or strong Sous Chef experience with leadership responsibilities
Excellent organisational and communication skills
A genuine passion for food, pizza and hospitality
Someone who enjoys teaching and developing others
High standards when it comes to cleanliness and kitchen management
Ability to remain calm and organised during busy services
A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
Creative ideas and a desire to contribute to menu development

Anxious Pete's is an independent pizzeria focused on quality ingredients, great pizza and continuous improvement. Alongside our New York style pizzas, we're always exploring other styles and techniques, from Detroit and Sicilian to seasonal specials and limited runs.

We encourage our chefs to get involved, contribute ideas and take pride in what they create. If you've ever wanted the freedom to put your own stamp on a menu rather than simply executing someone else's vision, we'd love to hear from you.
