The Role
We are looking for a Food Quality Control Inspector to support supply chain clients across East Kilbride and Cumbernauld area. This is a hands-on, part-time role suited to someone who is organised, reliable and confident working across different sites. As the role involves travel between multiple sites, you will need to own a vehicle and hold a full UK driving licence.
What you'll be doing
- Carry out inspections of fresh and prepared produce in distribution centres, often in chilled environments
- Assess quality against client specifications, including size, freshness, condition, packaging and weight
- Record inspections and non-conformances accurately using our digital inspection app
- Communicate clearly with colleagues, clients and site managers
- Travel to multiple locations each week and represent Audit Point professionally
- Work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
What we're looking for
You will ideally have a background in food, quality, safety or hospitality, supported by relevant practical experience or qualifications. We would especially love to hear from people with experience in:
- Food quality, technical or food safety teams
- Auditing, inspection or compliance roles
- Catering or hospitality operations
- Fresh produce, meat or food production environments
- Chef or catering roles with a strong focus on quality and hygiene
You’ll also need
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confidence using mobile technology for reporting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently and manage your schedule
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- The right to work in the UK
Pay and Benefits
- £13.00 per hour
- Mileage reimbursed at 45p per mile for travel beyond your base location
- Company NEST pension and statutory holidays (pro rata)
- Full training and all equipment provided
- Average of 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Opportunities for development and increased hours as our client base grows
- Primarily based in East Kilbride and Cumbernauld, with occasional additional work in the Bathgate area
