The Role
As a Scan Assistant, you’ll play a key part in delivering a high-quality experience for expectant parents and clients. You'll act as a vital link between our sonographers and customers—providing reassurance, building rapport, and helping create a calm and welcoming environment.You’ll also act as a chaperone for both pregnancy and health scans, ensuring privacy and comfort throughout the appointment. Please note: Scan Assistants do not perform scans or medical procedures.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Experience & Support
Welcome clients and build strong rapport with them and their families
Chaperone clients during scans.
Support the sonographer throughout the scan process to ensure focus on the clinical aspect
Help deliver information in a friendly, non-clinical, and reassuring manner
Sales & Upselling
Identify and act on opportunities to offer additional scans, upgrades, and merchandise
Compassionate Care
Support clients with empathy and professionalism, particularly during sensitive situations
Ensure relevant paperwork and procedures are handled accurately and thoroughly
Clinic Hygiene & Presentation
Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the clinic
Prepare and clean scan rooms and equipment between appointments
Administration
Carry out basic administrative tasks to a high standard
Be comfortable using computers and systems
Social Media
Be comfortable creating content and publishing to social media platforms
Other Duties
Provide support with reception, housekeeping, marketing, and general clinic operations as needed
What We’re Looking For
Confident and personable with great communication skills
Able to stay calm and supportive in sensitive or emotional situations
Happy to work as part of a small, dedicated team and willing to take ownership of tasks to ensure a 5 star experience for our patients.
Must be fully flexible and willing to work daytime, evenings and weekends across all shifts. Own transport is advantageous due to shift patterns and location. Evenings and weekends are our busiest periods so candidates must be available at these times.
Job Types: Permanent, Zero hours contract
Pay: £12.71 per hour
