Senior Accounts AssistantJob Description

Struans is a well-established, family-owned automotive group with over 45 years of success. With dealerships across Perth and Dundee, alongside a Repair Centre and vehicle rental operation, we pride ourselves on professionalism, reliability, and excellent customer service.

We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Accounts Assistant to join our team in Perth. This is a great opportunity to join a stable business with a strong culture and long-serving staff.

The Role

Reporting to the Group Accounts Manager, you will support the finance team with a range of accounting and administrative duties. This role requires a high level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable:

· Processing high volumes of supplier invoices

· Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes

· Maintain supplier records and resolve queries

· Reconcile supplier statements

· Assist with supplier payment runs

Sales Ledger / Accounts Receivable:

· Post customer receipts and allocate payments

· Carry out credit control duties

Banking & Reconciliations:

· Post and reconcile bank transactions

· Handle and allocate cash receipts

· Reconcile bank statements and control accounts

General Accounts Duties:

· Prepare and post journals

· Assist with month-end processes

· Support internal controls and compliance procedures

· Provide general administrative support to the finance team

RequirementsEssential:

· Experience in an accounts assistant / purchase ledger role

· Strong understanding of accounts payable processes

· Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel

· High level of accuracy and attention to detail

· Strong organisational and communication skills

Desirable:

· Experience with computerised bookkeeping systems

· HND in Accounting (or similar qualification) - not essential

Skills & Personal Attributes

· Excellent attention to detail

· Ability to manage workload in a busy environment

· Confident communicator with colleagues and suppliers

· Professional, discreet, and reliable

· Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and improve

Salary & Benefits

08.15 - 17.00 Monday - Friday with 45 minute break. 40 hour week.
