Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanic/MOT Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and environmental standards. Duties
- Conduct thorough MOT inspections on a wide range of vehicles, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using specialised tools and equipment.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, brakes, suspension, exhaust systems, and other vehicle components.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools efficiently to carry out repairs and servicing tasks.
- Carry out heavy lifting as required when handling parts or vehicle components.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and services performed.
- Ensure all work is completed within specified timeframes while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
- Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic or similar role with strong mechanical knowledge.
- Certification or licence to perform MOT testing (desirable but not essential; training can be provided).
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for vehicle repairs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during the course of duties.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
