Full job description

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Butcher to prepare, process and inspect meat, poultry and game while maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety and quality. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues and management, maintain relevant records and inventory, and provide professional customer service when handling enquiries, orders and payments.

Main duties include:

Slaughter and skin animals, cut carcasses into primal joints, and bone and trim primal joints.
Process raw meat, poultry and game, and perform quality inspections on meats and other products.
Work with colleagues on packing and cleaning while maintaining hygiene and health and safety in the work area.
Keep records, budgets and inventory, and provide good and consistent communication to superiors.
Greet and speak to customers on the phone, provide advice, answer questions, and accept orders or payments.

Skills and Education:

Proven experience working as a Butcher, Meat Cutter, or in a closely related fresh meat preparation role.
Good understanding of food hygiene, health and safety standards, and proper meat storage procedures.
Excellent knife skills and the ability to prepare different cuts of meat and poultry to customer requirements.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to assist customers and work effectively with staff and management.

Pay: £41,700.00-£42,000.00 per year
