Working across the four pillars of advanced practice—clinical practice, leadership and management, education, and research—you will use advanced history taking, examination, clinical reasoning and diagnostic decision-making skills to assess undifferentiated and complex presentations, initiate treatment plans and evaluate outcomes. The role includes managing a daily caseload within the Children’s Assessment Unit and inpatient ward, participating in ward rounds, supporting discharge planning, and ensuring accurate, contemporaneous documentation. You will contribute to the development of clinical pathways, governance processes and local standards, while also acting as an educator, supervisor and mentor for the wider team. A significant aspect of the role is influencing service improvement through audit, quality improvement and research activity, as well as supporting a culture of continuous learning, professional curiosity and compassionate leadership.
