Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal standards and company policies. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail to contribute to vehicle safety and compliance.

Duties

Conduct thorough MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with current legislation and safety standards.
Identify and diagnose faults or issues during inspections, providing clear reports and recommendations.
Use hand tools and power tools to carry out minor repairs or adjustments as necessary during the testing process.
Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and repairs performed.
Assist in the organisation of testing schedules to ensure timely service delivery.
Ensure the testing bay is kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Support other workshop activities as required, including vehicle preparation and basic maintenance tasks.

Requirements

Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or inspection roles.
Certification or qualification relevant to MOT testing.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when required, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
Good communication skills to explain inspection results clearly to customers.
