We’re now looking for an experienced Weighbridge professional to lead a busy and vital part of our operation. This is a great opportunity for someone who has the drive to take ownership of the role and make it their own.
The role
- responsible for the day to day operation of the weighbridge, and for developing, leading and driving the continuous improvement of our weighbridge operations
- supervise the weighbridge team in duties and performance
- accurately log all vehicles and weights entering/leaving the site, and direct vehicles to the appropriate loading/unloading areas, ensuring effective traffic flow
- carry out daily checks on jobs, ensuring they have the correct pricing, weights and PO numbers before signing off to accounts
- ensure that vehicles have the necessary paperwork for forward movements from the site to destination
- ensure that the weighbridge is covered and attended during all opening times
What you need
- proven experience working in a waste / transport / logistics role within a fast-paced, busy environment
- strong people management skills
- good organisational skills, with ability to prioritise work and manage multiple demands
- excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- extremely customer-focused with a good manner, both in-person and on the telephone
- a willingness to adapt and develop knowledge
- ability to work collaboratively with other areas of the business
- previous experience working in the waste industry would be highly advantageous; however, full training will be provided if you do not have this
- well presented with a confident and professional manner
The package
- Up to £16.00 per hour DOE
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- 1 in 4 Saturdays, 7.00am-12.30pm
