Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Welfare Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with schools, families, and external agencies to improve pupil attendance, wellbeing and engagement in education

Responsibilities

Work closely with schools to monitor student attendance records and identify patterns of concern
Engage with students, parents, and guardians to promote regular school attendance
Provide advice and support to schools, and families facing challenges affecting their child's education
Collaborate with school staff, social services, and external agencies to develop tailored intervention plans
Organise and chair meetings aimed at improving attendance and engagement
Maintain accurate records of interventions, contacts, and outcomes in line with organisational policies
Support schools in implementing policies that encourage positive attendance

Requirements

Proven experience or background in teaching or educational support roles is highly desirable
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Organised with excellent record-keeping abilities
Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable students
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Knowledge of the local are is advantageous
Knowledge of safeguarding is essential.
Knowledge of attendance procedures is desirable.

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about promoting equal access to education and ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed. Applicants should be motivated by making a positive impact within the community through proactive engagement and support.

Pay: £20.00 per hour
