This role is designed for someone who models the Academy's values, promotes innovative teaching strategies, and is dedicated to securing continuous improvement and quality outcomes for all students.
Welcome from the Principal:
Being part of Outwood Academy City Fields means bringing high-quality opportunities and experiences to our diverse, multicultural school in the heart of Wakefield.
We seek someone who can provide meaningful engagement and help all students, staff, and visitors thrive. Anyone taking on this role should be prepared to challenge themselves to meet the needs of our diverse community.
As Ofsted noted, our actions are directed and guided by putting ‘students first.’ Leaders set a strong example of high ambition, which is mirrored by all staff. We want the very best for our pupils in whatever walk of life they engage in.
Based in the friendly cathedral city of Wakefield, Outwood Academy City Fields is a thriving, "Good" rated school at the heart of a vibrant multicultural community. We are a school of choice, with increasing roll numbers and a rich, inclusive atmosphere:
- Diversity as a Strength: Over 50% of our pupils speak English as an additional language (EAL).
- Social Mobility: We play a vital role in transforming lives and providing high-quality opportunities for families.
- Impactful Leadership: Here, your work bridges the gap between the classroom and the diverse world of work, making a visible difference every single day.
We hope you can join us on our journey.
About the Department:
- Overview: The departments consist of 3 teaching staff, some of which have specialisms in Business Studies or IT.
- Commitment to Computer Science: We are committed to the delivery and longevity of Computer Science in our curriculum. Over the past decade we have led subject changes and consistently delivered good results for our students.
Other Course: As part of our commitment to our students we feel that Computer Science is not always the right course. As a result we offer Pearson BTEC Digital IT to offer our students a range of skills readying them for the workplace.
