Key Responsibilities – Deputy Nursery Manager
As a Deputy Nursery Manager in Edinburgh, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Nursery Manager with the daily operation of the nursery
- Leading and motivating the nursery team to deliver outstanding childcare
- Supporting children’s learning and development within the early years setting
- Ensuring safeguarding and health & safety standards are maintained
- Building strong parent partnerships within the local Edinburgh community
- Supporting staff training, mentoring, and professional development
- Helping maintain excellent standards across the nursery environment
- Acting as a role model for best practice in childcare and education
Essential Criteria – Deputy Nursery Manager Edinburgh

- Hold a relevant BA Childhood Practice Management or Level 9 qualification relevant to Early Years, or be willing to work towards a Management qualification with SVQ3 or HNC qualifications currently in place
- Have at least 2 years’ Deputy Manager / Operational experience within an early years setting
- Have experience working with children aged 0-5 years
- Have strong leadership and communication skills
- Be passionate about delivering high-quality childcare and education
