Experienced Fabricator / TIG Welder – Tollesbury, Essex
£16 – £19 per hour (depending on experience, with opportunities for progression)
Gamart Engineering Ltd is a long-established steel fabrication company based in Tollesbury, Essex, operating since 1972. We undertake a wide range of work, from bespoke one-off fabrications and sheet metal assemblies to larger batch production, working across mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium for a variety of industries.
With an increasing volume of stainless steel projects, particularly involving TIG welding, this role will play a key part in supporting that workload.
Our in-house capabilities include laser cutting, press brake work, rolling, machining, sawing and guillotining, along with powder coating and wet spraying, offering varied and interesting work across different processes.
You will be working as part of a skilled and experienced workshop team, producing high-quality fabrication work where attention to detail and pride in your work are essential.
The Role
This is a hands-on fabrication and welding role. The successful candidate must be able to work from engineering drawings, build to tight tolerances, and produce high-quality finished work.
The role will involve a mix of stainless steel and mild steel fabrication, with a strong emphasis on TIG welding for stainless work.
Essential Skills
- Proven TIG welding experience on stainless steel
- Strong all-round fabrication skills
- Ability to work independently from engineering drawings to tight tolerances
Desirable Skills
- MIG welding
- Sheet metal work experience
- Experience using steel fabrication machinery
Hours & Benefits
- Monday to Friday
- 40-hour week with early finish on Friday (2:00pm)
- Overtime available at enhanced rate
