Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Outdoor lead Practitioner to join our nursery and Out of School Club (OSC) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and educational outdoor environment for children. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with young learners, fostering their development through outdoor activities and play. The ideal applicant will possess strong management and leadership skills, along with experience working with children in early childhood settings. A valid driving licence is essential to facilitate transportation needs. This paid position is perfect for individuals passionate about childcare and outdoor education.

Responsibilities

Organise and supervise outdoor activities that promote physical development, creativity, and social skills.
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children during outdoor play sessions.
Develop engaging programmes that support early childhood education principles.
Manage daily routines, including setting up outdoor learning spaces and maintaining equipment.
Foster positive behaviour and encourage teamwork among children during outdoor activities.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to support individual needs and programme objectives.
Lead by example in demonstrating good practice in childcare and outdoor management.
Maintain accurate records related to children's attendance, behaviour, and developmental progress.

Experience

Proven experience working with children in nursery or early childhood education settings.
Strong management and leadership skills within childcare environments.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to outdoor activities for young children.
Experience in organising educational outdoor programmes or activities.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating independence in managing outdoor sessions.
Driving experience with a valid licence is preferred to support logistical requirements. This role offers an enriching environment where you can make a positive impact on children's development through outdoor learning experiences.
