Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Manager/Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the accuracy of accounts. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial health of our organisation through meticulous bookkeeping and effective account management.

Duties

Maintain and update financial records using SAGE software
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded
Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review
Assist with SAGE payroll processing and employee expense claims
Support year-end accounting procedures and liaise with external auditors as required
Monitor cash flow and assist in budgeting activities
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies
Process monthly CIS returns
Preparation of sales invoices and estimates
Quarterly VAT returns

Skills

Proven experience with SAGE accounting and payroll software
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial reconciliation
Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and standards
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

This position is ideal for candidates with a solid background in bookkeeping and account management, seeking a role that offers professional growth within a supportive environment. This is a part-time role, preferably 2 days/week including a Wednesday or Friday but could increase as business dictates.
