Brighton College Prep Handcross is seeking a reliable, professional and safety-conscious Minibus Driver to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver who enjoys working within a school environment and takes pride in providing a safe, efficient and friendly transport service for pupils and staff.
Rate of Pay: £13.20 per hour / Term Time Only / £5,227 per annum
Hours of Work: 10 hours per week / Monday – Friday / 6:00am – 8:00am
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Facilities, you will be responsible for transporting pupils and staff safely, maintaining the school's fleet of minibuses, and ensuring compliance with all relevant driving, safety and vehicle regulations.
The successful candidate will be flexible, enthusiastic and committed to delivering a high standard of service while representing the school professionally at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport pupils and staff on school journeys and activities.
- Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections and report any defects promptly.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the school's minibus fleet.
- Ensure compliance with DVLA regulations, health and safety requirements, and school transport policies.
- Drive responsibly and courteously, adhering to all road traffic regulations.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the school.
- Undertake other reasonable driving duties as requested by the Headmaster or Head of Facilities.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A full, clean UK driving licence (D1 entitlement preferred).
- An excellent driving and safety record.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A warm, professional and approachable manner.
- High standards of reliability, punctuality and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility and a positive, can-do attitude.
