We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a Materials and Purchasing Assistant, based at our Tandem Works site in Huddersfield.
As part of our continued focus on supporting efficient production operations, we are looking to appoint a reliable and organised individual to support materials management, purchasing activity, and production builds within Adelphi Masterfil Limited.
About the Role
The Materials and Purchasing Assistant plays a key role in supporting production by ensuring the efficient management of inventory, timely procurement of materials, and smooth progression of manufacturing builds. The role combines stores control, picking and kitting, and purchasing coordination to help maintain uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Workshop Manager, Production, Planning, and Purchasing teams to ensure materials and components are available in line with build schedules.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Receiving goods, checking deliveries against paperwork, and booking stock accurately into the ERP system
- Picking and kitting materials and components in line with production orders and BOMs
- Monitoring stock accuracy through cycle counting and investigation of discrepancies
- Supporting purchasing activities, including purchase order creation, order follow‑up and reviewing supplier confirmations
- Packing and booking consignments, from small parcels to palletised goods
- Monitoring the status of production builds, ensuring materials / components availability aligns with build schedules and helping resolve material shortages
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, health & safety and quality compliance
Skills and Experience:
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- Good IT skills, with the ability to work across multiple systems
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Positive, flexible approach with a willingness to learn
Pay: From £26,000.00 per year
