Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Miller Setter/Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, tooling, and CAD/CAM software, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in machining and manufacturing to contribute to high-quality production in a dynamic environment.

Duties

Set up and calibrate CNC milling machines according to technical drawings and specifications.
Programme CNC machines using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other relevant tools.
Operate CNC milling equipment safely and efficiently to produce components within specified tolerances.
Perform grinding, welding, and assembly tasks as required to support manufacturing processes.
Maintain and adjust tooling, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
Conduct routine inspections of machined parts using hand tools and measuring instruments to ensure quality standards are met.
Troubleshoot machine issues, perform basic maintenance, and make necessary adjustments during production runs.
Follow safety protocols diligently, including the use of power tools and personal protective equipment.
Document production activities accurately and report any discrepancies or machine malfunctions.

Qualifications

Proven experience in milling operations, particularly with CNC machinery.
Proficiency in CAD design software such as SolidWorks and familiarity with CAM programming.
Knowledge of grinding, welding, plastics injection moulding, and assembly processes is advantageous.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and tooling for machining tasks.
Basic mathematical skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during machining processes.
Experience working with plastics injection moulding is desirable but not essential.
