Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled CSCS Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and related trades, with the ability to work efficiently on various building projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality construction work, ensuring safety and precision throughout all tasks. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with relevant experience and a commitment to craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

Reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications to execute carpentry tasks accurately
Fabrication and assembly of timber frameworks, fixtures, and fittings on-site
Using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to cut, shape, and install materials
Performing joinery work with precision to ensure durability and aesthetic standards
Assisting with roofing installations, repairs, or modifications as required
Heavy lifting of materials and components safely in accordance with health and safety regulations
Conducting construction painting where necessary to prepare surfaces for finishing
Engaging in plumbing, masonry, or electrical tasks if required by project scope
Collaborating with other trades such as electricians or masons to ensure seamless project progress
Maintaining a clean and organised work environment at all times

Skills

Proven experience in carpentry, joinery, fabrication, and assembly processes
Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and measuring devices
Competence in operating power tools safely and effectively
Knowledge of roofing techniques and heavy lifting procedures on-site
Basic understanding of plumbing, masonry, electrical systems, or construction painting is advantageous
Ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications accurately
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a construction environment

This position requires candidates to hold a valid CSCS card. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to safety standards and quality workmanship. Prior experience in construction environments is essential for success in this role.

Pay: £18.00-£20.00 per hour
