Panel Wirer
We are recruiting for a Panel Wirer to join our team carrying out the assembly and wiring of electrical control panels, working in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
The role requires the ability to manage your own workload effectively, working independently from technical drawings while maintaining high levels of accuracy and workmanship.

A proactive approach and strong attention to detail are essential to ensure builds are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and wire electrical control panels and enclosures from technical drawings and schematics.
- Interpret electrical diagrams, wiring schedules, and layout drawings.
- Install components such as PLCs, relays, contactors, circuit breakers, and terminal blocks.
- Carry out point-to-point wiring and cable terminations to a high standard.
- Use powered hand tools such as drills, jigsaws, and other workshop equipment for panel cutouts and assembly.
- Input and manage basic production or build data using IT systems where required.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant UK regulations (e.g. BS 7671 and health & safety standards).
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Identify and report any design or build issues to supervisors or engineers.
- Meet production targets and deadlines while maintaining quality.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience as a Panel Wirer or similar electrical assembly role.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Competence in using powered hand tools safely (e.g. drills, jigsaws).
- Basic IT skills, including the ability to use computer systems to generate cable numbers and panel labels.
- Knowledge of electrical components and panel layouts.
- Good practical wiring skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of electrical safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent).
- Experience with PLC wiring and industrial control systems.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) knowledge.
- Ability to complete basic panel testing.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
The Package:
- Salary: Hourly - Paid Weekly - £14.00.
- Hours: Standard working hours are Monday to Thursday 07.00 - 17.00 - 4 DAY WORKING WEEK.
- 22 days annual leave, plus Bank Holidays (accumulating +1 day for every 3 years of service).
