Role Overview
Noel needs a reliable, skilled landscaper to take charge on-site. You will be the person he can trust to run the day-to-day site operation, manage two semi-skilled team members, and ensure the work is completed to exacting standards and optimum efficiency. This role is critical to helping Noel grow the business.
Key Objectives
- Take full responsibility for site progress – keeping the job moving forward each day without needing Noel to be present constantly.
- Manage and direct two semi-skilled landscapers – giving them clear, regular direction and support.
- Maintain quality and technical standards – spotting issues before they become problems and ensuring all work meets required specifications.
- Ensure high standards of on-site health and safety – keeping the site safe, organised, and compliant so work can continue without unnecessary risk or disruption.
- Train and develop team members – helping team members build their skills, confidence and understanding of how the job should be done.
- Work collaboratively with Noel – feeding back on-site issues, progress, and any support needed.
What We're Looking For
Key Skills Required
- Strong practical landscaping ability across paving, walling, planting, turfing, fencing, drainage, and general site work.
- Ability to manage and motivate semi-skilled workers on site.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in completing work properly.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and make sensible decisions on site.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to maintain safe working practices and support a tidy, well-run site.
- Ability to help train and guide less experienced team members.
Experience Required
- Several years’ hands-on landscaping experience.
- Experience supervising others or taking the lead on site.
- Experience delivering work to a high standard with minimal supervision.
- Experience managing day-to-day site progress and dealing with problems as they arise.
