Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Bodyshop Manager to oversee daily operations within our busy workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of technicians, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining efficient workflow. A strong background in vehicle repair and bodywork, coupled with excellent leadership skills, is essential for this role. The Bodyshop Manager will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring safety and compliance with industry regulations.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of bodyshop technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Oversee the organisation and prioritisation of repair jobs to optimise productivity.
- Ensure all work adheres to company quality standards and safety protocols.
- Manage inventory levels of parts, tools, and equipment necessary for daily operations.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and safety information.
- Liaise with customers, insurance companies, and suppliers to facilitate smooth workflow.
- Implement training programmes to maintain high skill levels within the team.
- Monitor and control costs related to labour, parts, and materials.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labour hours for reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in vehicle body repair or a related field with a strong understanding of mechanical systems.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools required for vehicle repairs.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks associated with vehicle repair work.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff, customers, and suppliers.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to automotive repair environments.
