Full job description

Electric Smart Meter Engineer/Meter Maintenance Technician

Please be aware this not a Smart meter engineer role

This role will require extensive travel covering mainly the Yorkshire Postcodes with some travel to the North East to cover the DL, TS, NE Postcodes. From time to time you may also be required to work away from home.

This role will be mainly focussed on the fault finding, repair and maintenance of residential customers smart meter.

Summary of the role

You will be required to visit customers property to fault find, repair and maintain their smart meter.
You will be given full training to be able to diagnose and repair a smart meter, this could be swapping the sim, reprogramming, battery resets or recommissioning.
Travel will be required with this role, sometimes national. If/when you are required to stay away from home, all accommodation will be provided.
Communicating with customers, dealing with any concerns they may have over their smart meter.
On occasion, you will be required to complete some single phase electrical meter installation work.

The Salary & Terms applicable for this role

Basic Salary: £32,500
Attendance Bonus: £150 per month
Company Van, fuel card, uniform, mobile etc
Holidays: 23 days + bank holidays (Plus an extra day for every year worked at MPAAS)
Holiday Buy & Sell Scheme - Purchase up to 5 extra days annual leave
Working Hours: 42.5 hours per week – 8.00am-5.30pm

What we are ideally looking for in you

Experience of installing single phase electrical meters
Full, manual driving licence with no more than 6 points
Training will be from our head office in Haydock, Merseyside. You will be required to travel to Haydock to undertake a 1 week training programme plus 1 week mentoring.
Ability to travel/work away from home when necessary
Attention to detail
Manual dexterity – Ability to use tools such as screwdriver, cable cutters etc

MPAAS are an accredited Meter Operator and Meter Asset Manager which means that not only do we own the smart meter asset, but we can fit the smart meter on behalf of your energy supplier. This makes us the face of the energy supplier; the ones who visit your home or business and our qualified Dual Fuel Meter Installers undertake the installation.

In addition to this we also undertake revenue protection work for our energy suppliers. That’s why we pride ourselves in delivering first class customer service to all of our consumers. From the point of booking through to installation our personalised consumer journey keeps everyone informed every step of the way.

Please note anyone for this role must complete a DBS & Driving Licence Check.
