Involve Voluntary Action in Mid Devon is dedicated to fostering the development and sustainability of local voluntary and community initiatives. We work closely with individuals, groups, and organisations to enhance community capacity, promote active citizenship, and support inclusive access to services for all community members.
Summary

We are seeking a Youth Support Worker to join our team in Cullompton. This vital role involves engaging with young people, supporting their development, and helping them become active members of the community. Based at the John Tallack Centre, you will contribute to our mission of empowering individuals through community-driven initiatives. The role is 6 hrs per week during term time and some hours during holiday periods. Salary is £25,904.34 FTE.

Responsibilities

Support young people in developing life skills and confidence.
Facilitate engaging activities tailored to youth needs.
Provide mentoring and guidance to help youth achieve their goals.
Assist in planning and delivering educational programs.
Advocate for the needs of young people with learning disabilities.
Promote a positive and inclusive environment for all participants.
Qualifications
Proven experience working with children or young people.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of special education needs is desirable.
JNC recognised Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Youth Work Practice is desirable.
Enthusiasm for youth development and community engagement.
Previous mentoring or youth work experience is advantageous.
Commitment to promoting equality and diversity.
Flexibility to adapt to different situations and needs.
