Full job description

As a Relief Care Worker in our care home, you will support older people with their daily care and wellbeing, helping ensure they feel safe, comfortable and valued. Working flexibly to support the team, you will contribute to the smooth running of the service.

What your day will look like

Supporting residents with personal and intimate care
Encouraging activity, independence and social interaction
Supporting residents with meals, hydration and nutrition
Providing reassurance and responding to call bells
Maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable environment
Completing daily care records accurately
Working alongside colleagues and other professionals
Providing flexible support across shifts when required

About you

You will bring patience, kindness and a positive approach to supporting older people. You will value teamwork and understand the importance of delivering care that respects dignity and independence.

Previous care experience is helpful but not essential, as full training and support will be provided. Basic IT skills are required for recording information and completing training. You will be willing to work towards an SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care if you do not already hold this qualification. You must be a member of the PVG Scheme and registered with the SSSC, or willing to join and register.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
