Full job description

About the role

You will take full responsibility for production planning during your shift, ensuring jobs are correctly scheduled, prioritised, and executed efficiently. You will also operate key machinery and use a forklift to support material movement and production flow, ensuring you remain closely connected to shopfloor realities and able to respond quickly to operational needs.

This is a dual-focused role where production planning is the core responsibility, supported by materials handling, hands-on machining and general production operative duties.

Sunday to Thursday, 4.00pm – 1.00am + overtime opportunities

What you’ll do

Create and manage the production schedule to ensure smooth workflow and efficient machine use.
Balance workload across machines to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
Work closely with the Day Shift Production Planner to ensure clear handovers, aligned priorities, and a smooth transition between shifts.
Monitor live production flow, identify bottlenecks, and adjust plans to maintain output and reduce delays.
Use a forklift to move materials and ensure jobs are fully prepared before production.
Operate CNCs, beam saws, laser cutters, and edgebanders to support production and maintain hands-on understanding.
Respond quickly to breakdowns, delays, or shortages and adjust the plan accordingly.
Identify and support improvements in scheduling, workflow, and efficiency.

Who you are

You have experience in production planning, scheduling, or workflow coordination in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
You have experience operating CNCs, beam saws, laser cutters, edgebanders, or similar machinery.
You stay in control when priorities change and can quickly re-plan under pressure.
You understand how small planning or operational errors can impact quality and delivery.
You take pride in both well-planned production and high-quality output.
You take ownership, anticipate issues, and act before problems escalate.

Bonus skills (nice to have)

Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments
CNC programming or machine maintenance experience
