We are currently looking for a Mill Machinist to join the highly successful team at our Trafalgar Rd, IOW branch.
What you’ll be doing:
Our Timber Mill Machinists are very important to the smooth running of the business. Their role is important to help ensure products are where they need to be on time.
Good grasp of Health & Safety requirements in an Operational environment
Awareness and understanding of health and safety standards applicable to machinery or mechanical handling equipment to be used
Awareness and understanding of health and safety standards applicable to working in a timber processing plant and timber storage and distribution site
Ability to carry out routine inspections
Ability to understand, complete and maintain all documentation associated and required by the role
Ability to work as a team player within the timber processing plant and overall site operation
Operating a variety of woodworking machinery such as; band resaw, planer/ thicknesser, Five headed moulder, Spindle moulder, Profile grinder, crosscut.
Working across various tasks in the mill including quality control, stacking of machine timber and housekeeping.
Adherence to EHS standards by ensuring; work area is kept tidy, work area is cleaned daily, machinery is rigorously maintained
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday 730am to 4:00pm
