Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and organised Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team on a part-time basis, working approximately 20.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations within the practice. This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment where attention to detail and compassionate communication are valued.

Hours of post

Monday 1pm - 6pm

Tuesday 8.30am - 2pm

Thursday 8.30am 1pm

Friday 2 - 6.30pm

Total 20.5 hours

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient check-in and check-out procedures
Answer incoming calls promptly, directing enquiries appropriately and scheduling appointments
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with data protection regulations
Manage administrative tasks such as emails, processing prescriptions and correspondence
Coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely appointment scheduling and patient flow
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and organised at all times

Requirements

Previous office or administrative experience is highly desirable
Proven experience in a medical or healthcare environment is advantageous
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a friendly and professional manner
Proficiency in using office software such as MS Office Suite or similar programmes
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
A welcoming demeanour with a commitment to providing outstanding patient care and customer service
