An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Advanced Paediatric Dieti tian to join the Nutrition and Dietetic Service in University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. The post is based at Royal Lancaster Hospital with a requirement to travel to support our cross bay dietetic team.

Therefore, clinical evidence-based knowledge of paediatric dietetics , alongside a passion and commitment to leadership and management, service development and facilitation of learning and practitioner wellbeing is fundamental.
You will have compassionate communication skills with a proactive approach to problem solving and implementation of innovative solutions within an evolving dietetics landscape. This ensures a responsive, needs-based approach to holistic patient centred care. The service is aligned to and contributes to a range of regional networks in the Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB.
The post will cover both inpatient and outpatient work and you will responsible for managing a complex caseload covering a wide range of clinical areas including nutrition support, enteral feeding, gastroenterology, food allergies and feeding problems for infants, children and young people.
We work very closely with the entire paediatric MDT, including consultants, specialist nurses, ward and support staff as well as health visitors, children’s community nurses and speech and language therapists.

We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period. This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
