Community Children's Support Worker (Bank/Flexible Hours)

Overview

We are looking for caring, confident, and patient Support Workers to join our team and provide support to children within the community. This is a rewarding role where you will help children develop independence, build confidence, access activities, and achieve positive outcomes in a safe and supportive environment.

This position offers flexible bank hours to fit around your availability and is based across Kettering, Rushden, Corby, and Burton Latimer.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one support to children within community settings
Support children to access social, recreational, educational, and leisure activities
Build positive and trusting relationships with children and their families
Promote independence, confidence, and personal development
Encourage participation in community activities and opportunities
Support children with emotional wellbeing and social interaction
Follow individual support plans and risk assessments
Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with families and colleagues
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times
Transport children to activities and appointments where required

Requirements

Experience working with children in the community, education, youth work, care, sports coaching, childcare, or similar settings
A caring, patient, and compassionate approach
Confidence in supporting children with a variety of needs and abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build positive relationships and maintain professional boundaries
Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently
A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable
Relevant qualifications in childcare, health and social care, or youth work are advantageous but not essential
