Full job description

We are seeking a Lecturer/Skills Coach in Arboriculture and Forestry to join our dedicated team of land-based specialists. This highly regarded and dynamic subject area offers an outstanding learning experience, combining extensive hands-on training at our well-equipped college estate with valuable off-site, industry-based projects. The college delivers a broad range of short, part-time, and full-time courses, covering all aspects of the forestry and arboriculture sector.

Interviews for this role will be taking place week commencing 22 June 2026.

Please note, this position is scheduled to begin in September.

Your duties

You will:

Act as a course tutor, providing support with organisation, administration and monitoring of attendance.
Undertake placement visits and help maintain records of achievement.
Participate in demonstrations and practical activities with students and trainees.
Assist in the development of Arboriculture and Forestry courses.

Person specification

The successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, abilities and qualities will include:

Experience of working in the Arboriculture industry
Ability to lead on developing, planning, delivery and evaluation of high quality and inclusive learning experiences.
Experience delivering T-level courses.
Level 3 Forestry/Arboriculture/Woodland Management qualification
QCF Level 2 qualifications in Chainsaw Maintenance, Felling & Processing Trees, and Accessing trees using a rope and harness.
Teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one)
Assessor / Verifier Qualifications (or be willing to work towards and achieve)
Minimum of grade C in GCSE Maths and English Language (or equivalent)
