Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Setter/Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in precision machining. The position is ideal for those looking to develop their expertise in advanced manufacturing processes. There is also the opportunity to advance into CNC programming using Fusion 360.
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machines according to drawing specifications, ensuring precise operation.
- Operate CNC milling and Sliding head lathe's, maintaining optimal performance throughout production runs.
- Perform routine operator inspection and quality checks on machined parts to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters as needed during production.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety standards.
- Assist with deburring and part cleaning when required .
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating CNC machinery, including milling, sliding head, robotic automation equipment.
- Experience with CAM software such as Fusion.
- Strong understanding of basic maths for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- This role requires a dedicated individual with a keen eye for detail, excellent mechanical skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Candidates should be organised, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute to high-quality manufacturing outputs.
Pay: £18.00 per hour
