JOB TITLE: Glass Sales Advisor
RESPONSIBLE TO: Assistant Branch Manager
HOURS: During Mon-Fri Between 0800-1700 – 42.5 hours per week
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:
As a Glass Sales Advisor, you will play a vital role in converting glass sales and delivering outstanding customer service. You will be responsible for quoting customers on the best glass solutions for their needs. You will manage customer inquiries throughout the entire process, from initial enquiry and negotiation to order completion. Additionally, you will serve as the first point of contact for all inquiries into Camel, directing customers to the appropriate team as needed. Strong communication and commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience as essential to this role.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:
- Manage inbound and outbound communication effectively, including calls and emails, ensuring enquiries are handled professionally and redirected to the appropriate departments promptly.
- Promote the company positively at all times, maintaining a friendly, professional, customer-focused attitude.
- Develop strong technical knowledge of double-glazed units, processed glass, glazing applications, systems, and their specifications, with the ability to accurately quote, process, and convert enquiries into orders.
- Develop a working knowledge of wider sales products, including windows, doors, glazing hardware, and showroom options, to support customers with informed product choices.
- Create accurate quotes for glass, windows, and doors using company and supplier-specific quoting systems.
- Make accurate glass deductions for glazing hardware and prepare clear drawings for customer approval where required.
- Place orders with suppliers for glazing products, maintaining a high standard of attention to detail to ensure accuracy from order processing through to completion.
- Review and verify supplier order confirmations, delivery notes, purchase orders, and invoices to ensure all details are accurate and discrepancies are identified promptly.
- Communicate delivery times, order progress, and any status changes to customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify and address supplier non-conformances, coordinating replacement items or corrective actions where necessary.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness when checking orders, resolving discrepancies, negotiating with suppliers or customers, and making decisions that may affect cost, margin, or customer satisfaction.
- Use company and supplier quoting, ordering, purchasing, invoicing, and administrative systems proficiently and accurately.
- Raise purchase orders, post invoices, post delivery notes, and complete any other administrative duties appropriate to the role.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to organise and facilitate customer collections, deliveries, and stock-related requirements.
- Coordinate tasks effectively, assessing priorities and managing competing demands across the business.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key account customers, acting as a reliable point of contact for role-related enquiries.
- Coordinate and schedule warranty service calls, ensuring clear communication with customers, suppliers, and internal team members.
- Develop a working knowledge of regulatory requirements within the fenestration industry.
- Acquire a broad understanding of administrative roles within the business to provide support and cover when required.
KEY SKILLS
