Full job description

Due to continued expansion we are looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Officer

Roadhead Farm Feeds are a leading supplier of animal feedstuffs and nutritional products throughout Scotland and Northern England. Roadhead Farm Feeds are committed to supplying top quality feeding. As one of the few agricultural animal feed producers in the UK who also actively farm, we understand the challenges faced by farmers. Our computer automated blending plant ensures that every time you order with Roadhead you are ordering the exact formula and ingredients that you have done previously, whether that is your own tailor-made blend or one of our bestselling blends. We also have a full range of feed for Poultry units, as well as a comprehensive range of Calf Care products.

We are looking for an individual who can meet deadlines, work independently and in a team, IT Literate and has the ability to make decisions. Knowledge of risk assessments, HACCP and Farm/Mill Assurance experience is required.

Your role will include:

· Reviewing, interpreting and implementing new policies issued by UFAS, Acoura, Supermarket Contracts ;

· Liaising with the relevant individuals to ensure that the required changes are implemented;

· Completing overviews and testing of the policies to ensure that all standards and expectations are being met;

· Maintaining site document control systems and removal of superseded documents;

· Ensuring supplier assurance, internal specifications and HACCP systems are maintained;

· Managing sampling and creating a programme to maintain site compliance;

· Day to day management and development of the site’s food safety, quality and regulatory systems;

· Conducting internal risk assessments, audits and gap analysis ensuring accurate recording and reporting of findings;

· Overall responsibility for the calibration of measurement devices used by the quality and production teams;

· Involvement in maintaining crisis plans for product recall and investigating customer complaints;

· Liaise and engage with Mill Team to ensure cleanliness standards are maintained at the highest levels; and

· Responsibility for and lead all External Audits.

Salary is negotiable and dependant on experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
