Job Overview
The Governors of Summerhill Primary are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Manager/Caretaker to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of our premises. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, technical knowledge, and leadership qualities to ensure the site functions efficiently, safely, and in accordance with organisational standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with a background in mechanical, electrical, or project management disciplines to contribute to the smooth running of our facilities.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring all equipment and systems operate optimally
- Oversee site safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Manage ongoing projects related to site improvements or repairs, including planning and resource allocation
- Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify issues requiring attention
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and safety checks
- Lead a team of technicians or maintenance staff, providing guidance and supervision
- Troubleshoot electrical or mechanical faults using schematics and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) where applicable
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and internal departments to facilitate repairs and upgrades
- Ensure that all electrical systems are maintained according to industry standards and schematics
- Implement preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and prolong equipment lifespan
Requirements
- Proven management and supervisory experience within a facilities or site management environment
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks effectively
- Mechanical knowledge coupled with electrical experience; familiarity with schematics and PLC systems is advantageous
- Demonstrable leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and oversee complex projects
- Good understanding of maintenance procedures for various mechanical and electrical systems
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and reporting
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication across teams and stakeholders
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in management, engineering, or technical trades are desirable
We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible person to join our School. Experience of School carfetaking is not essential. However maintenance skills would be beneicial.
Pay: £25,583.00-£28,142.00 per year
