The Care Home Interiors Company is a multi-award-winning, family run business, offering an exceptional design and installation service based in Medstead, Hampshire. We handmake bespoke curtains, upholstered furniture and dressing items for the Care Home sector which we then install in care homes around the UK for both new builds and refurbishments, we are much respected in the industry. You’d be part of friendly, dynamic and closeknit team who take care and pride in the items that are made and installed. We are seeking a professional stylist to be present on all installations, to place and present our designs and products with flair, to ‘hand over’ to the Care Supplier and be ready for residents.
Skills and experience:
You should have previous visual merchandising/styling experience, preferably in a ‘home type setting’ or with interior furnishings, with a keen eye for detail and strong organisational abilities.
You’ll need a positive attitude with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to a high end result. You should be reliable and enjoy working as part of a multiskilled team consisting of builders/tradespeople/suppliers/customers. You’ll come into contact with elderly residents so need to be friendly and understanding, plus be independent and able to manage your own time efficiently.
Key responsibilites:
- Dress care homes to a high standard in line with dementia principles, ensuring the well- being and safety of residents is the highest priority.
- Ensure all dressing items are organised and packed sufficiently ready for install
- Keep up to date records of any dressing items used for future warehouse stock takes and future ordering
- Dress all curtains and voiles to high standard
- Discuss with designers the style, client, target audience and budget of the care home to ensure styling is on brief
- Assist with loading of vehicles along with designers prior to installation, to ensure all required items are present and correct
During busy times, for example when Care Home projects are reaching ‘site fit out stage’, the hours may be more than the standard 36 per week and you would be required to work ‘longer days’ during these periods. Depending on Home locations which are throughout the UK, occasional overnight stays may be required at which time meals and accommodation would be paid for.
Must hold a valid driving license (with use of company vehicle) and be fit, the work involved is sometimes physical and can involve manual handling. Due to the nature of work, you would be required to undergo a DBS check.
Hours: 36 per week - with a certain amount of flexibility as this will need to fit in with the requirement of installations (the beginning of the week being quieter)
Salary £27,000 - £29.000 depending on experience.
Pay: £27,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
