Full job description

We are looking for people who want to start or develop their career working with children and young people to work on our Holiday Activities and Food Programmes. Working with Senior Practitioners, you will:

Deliver and facilitate activities which support the wellbeing and development of children and young people,
Identify the wellbeing and developmental needs of children and young people to support the preparation of activities,
Deliver small group interventions to a targeted group of children and young people,
Provide every child and young person with the tools they need to thrive and achieve their full potential,
Provide a safe and nurturing in which every child is happy, safe and well,
Provide advice and support to parents/carers to ensure children can thrive,
Record, monitor and evidence the progress of children and young people,
Foster relationships with children, young people and their families built on trust and mutual respect,
Work with other professionals to provide holistic care and support to children, young people and their families,
Provide intimate care to children and young people who require it, under the direction of a senior practitioner,
Support children and young people displaying behaviours of concern and manage any challenging behaviours,
Comply with health and safety regulations to provide a safe environment for children, young people and adults,
Be alert to the signs and indicators of abuse and report these promptly,
Identify families who may need extra help and highlight these to senior staff.
Regularly undertake training to update and refresh knowledge and practice,
Complete other reasonable tasks at a manager’s direction.

Person Specification

You will work at various venues across Medway according to the service’s needs. All venues are well connected by public transport or have parking. You will work on a sessional basis on programmes in the Winter, Easter and Summer School Holidays.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Pay: £12.80 per hour
