We are known for delivering reliable, compliant and cost-effective Mechanical, Electrical, Fire & Security and Building Services to a diverse client base across the South of England.
Due to continued growth, we are currently recruiting for two experienced Commercial Gas & Plumbing Engineers to join our expanding mechanical team.
This role involves carrying out a variety of planned and reactive maintenance works, including commercial gas, heating and plumbing services, primarily within schools, colleges, commercial properties and public sector buildings.
The position will involve working across multiple sites throughout Hampshire and the surrounding areas, with occasional early starts and participation in a shared on-call rota (typically 1 in 4 weeks).

Key Responsibilities
As a Commercial Gas & Plumbing Engineer at Wing's Technical Services, you will travel between client sites carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding, repairs and minor installation works.
You will be expected to maintain high standards of safety, compliance and workmanship while representing the company professionally at all times.
Typical duties will include:
- Carrying out reactive maintenance, fault finding and gas/plumbing repairs
- Servicing and maintaining commercial boilers, water heaters and associated plant
- Installing pipework, water heaters, TMVs and general plumbing systems
- Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks, including servicing, valve inspections and safety checks
- Commissioning and testing hot water and heating systems
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out remedial works on commercial heating systems
- Attending breakdowns and participating in the shared 24/7 on-call rota
- Supporting mechanical refurbishment projects, including toilet refurbishments and catering areas
- Completing accurate job reports and documentation using company software
- Maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism, particularly within educational environments
- Working alongside electrical and mechanical teams to support wider compliance and remedial works
Minimum Requirements & QualificationsEssential
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing, Heating or a Mechanical discipline
- Commercial Gas Qualifications including:
- CODNCO1
- CIGA1
- CDGA1
- CENWAT
- CCN1
- Unvented Hot Water (G3)
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Commercial Gas Engineer or in a similar role
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills

- Air Source Heat Pump experience
- Air Conditioning knowledge
- Electrical knowledge or qualifications
- Experience working within schools, colleges or commercial environments

The Package
- £50,000 Basic Salary
- £175 per week whilst on-call (1 in 4 rota)
- Approximately £2,275 additional earnings per year from on-call payments

Overtime Rates
- Time and a half after 6:00pm Monday to Friday
- Time and a half on Saturdays up to 12:00pm
- Double time after 12:00pm on Saturdays and all day Sunday
- Call-outs paid door-to-door
Working Hours
- Full-time – 40 hours per week
- Standard start time: 8:00am
- Occasional early starts (e.g. 6:00am) depending on site requirements
