Overview
Metropolitan Security Services are seeking a number of vigilant and dedicated Store Detectives to join our retail security team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring store premises to prevent theft, ensure safety, and maintain a secure shopping environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic retail setting, contributing to the safety of staff and customers alike. Prior experience in surveillance or security is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular surveillance of store areas using CCTV equipment and physical patrols to identify suspicious activity.
- Monitor customer and staff behaviour for signs of theft or misconduct.
- Respond promptly to any security incidents, ensuring the safety of all individuals within the store.
- Write detailed reports on incidents, observations, and security breaches for management records.
- Assist with emergency situations, including providing first aid when necessary, until professional help arrives.
- Collaborate with store management and law enforcement agencies as required to resolve security issues effectively.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter theft and promote a secure shopping environment.
Skills
- Experience or knowledge in surveillance techniques and equipment operation is desirable.
- Strong report writing skills with the ability to document incidents accurately and clearly.
- First aid certification or the ability to respond effectively in medical emergencies.
- Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, able to liaise professionally with colleagues, customers, and authorities.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations discreetly and confidently. Pay: £14.35 per hour
