SELF North East is looking for committed and compassionate Support Workers to join our residential care team supporting adults with complex needs including learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, and forensic profiles. About the Role
At SELF North East, we’re looking for dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our residential care team. You’ll be supporting adults with a range of complex needs, including learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, and forensic backgrounds.

This isn’t just about providing care — it’s about empowering people to live fulfilling, independent lives. You’ll play an important role in creating an inclusive, supportive environment where every individual feels valued, respected, and part of a community.

Key Responsibilities

Provide person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, and forensic profiles.
Promote independence, confidence, and positive outcomes for each individual.
Support residents with daily living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, and household activities.
Build strong, trusting relationships that encourage inclusion and emotional wellbeing.
Assist with care plans and risk assessments, ensuring support is tailored to individual needs.
Encourage participation in social, educational, and recreational activities within the home and community.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to provide consistent, high-quality care.
Maintain accurate records and follow all safeguarding, health, and safety policies.
