We're looking for a warm, caring, and reliable Lunch Cover Assistants at both Kingston and Hampton Court to support our teams during the busy mid-day period. This is a vital role in helping to ensure smooth transitions during meals, naps, and midday activities.
Katey’s in Kingston is a vibrant nursery providing exceptional early years education for children aged 0-5. With over 13 years of experience, we’re known for outstanding childcare in a boutique setting. Our nurturing atmosphere helps children flourish in a safe space that encourages exploration and play, supporting their physical, social and emotional growth. Our sunny terrace extends from top-floor classrooms, giving children access to natural light and fresh air to boost well-being. Daylight improves focus and concentration, vital for effective learning, while a bright space ignites curiosity and creativity. To strengthen children’s connection with nature, we explore the local area daily, visiting parks, woodlands, and public spaces. These experiences foster community and enrich learning, nurturing confident, well-rounded individuals ready to embrace the world.
At Katey’s Hampton Court, children are welcomed into a nurturing and creative space where learning through play is at the heart of everything we do. With regular outings to nearby parks and gardens, we embrace natural discovery, encourage imagination, and foster strong social and emotional development through child-led exploration. Perfectly positioned just across from Hampton Court Palace and next to the river, the nursery is also conveniently located beside the train station, making it ideal for commuting families and staff.
About the Role
You will support the team by:
- Assisting with meal times, helping to serve food and ensuring good hygiene and supervision
- Supporting children with their personal care needs, including toileting and handwashing
- Preparing children for nap time and ensuring a calm, restful sleep environment
- Engaging with children through play, conversation, and gentle guidance during transitions
- Ensuring that the room is tidy, clean, and safe during and after the lunch period
- Supporting nursery staff with any midday administrative or setup tasks as needed
- Building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Attending relevant training and being aware of safeguarding procedures and policies
What We’re Looking For
· A passion for working with children and helping them feel safe, cared for and valued
· A friendly, calm and dependable personality
· Some experience working with children in a nursery or similar environment (desirable but not essential)
· Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions confidently
A good understanding of safeguarding, hygiene and health & safety (training provided)
