About the Role
We are seeking a practical and detail-oriented Electronics Production Technician to join our friendly production team.
This is a hands-on role focused on the assembly, wiring, crimping, soldering, and inspection of electronic products, cable assemblies, and battery-powered equipment. You will be responsible for producing high-quality electrical assemblies and ensuring work is completed to the required standards of quality and reliability.
Working closely with production and engineering teams, you will follow work instructions, drawings, and SOPs to assemble and inspect products accurately and efficiently. You will also support product testing, fault investigation, customer returns (RMAs), and prototype or development work when required.
As part of a small and collaborative manufacturing team, workload can vary depending on customer orders and project requirements. While electronic assembly, wiring, and soldering activities form the core of the role, you will also support testing, inspection, engineering activities, and wider production tasks when required. This variety provides the opportunity to develop practical skills across multiple areas of the business and take on increased responsibility over time.
This role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in producing quality assemblies, and is willing to contribute wherever needed to support the wider team.
RequirementsEssential:
- 2-3 Years minimum previous experience in electronics assembly, cable assembly, wiring, soldering, or a similar manufacturing environment
- Experience using hand tools (e.g. screwdrivers, wire strippers, crimpers, soldering iron)
- Competent soldering, wiring, and crimping skills
- Ability to follow assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, work instructions, and SOPs
- Good attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
- Basic computer skills and willingness to complete production documentation
- GCSE passes in English & Mathematics
Desirable:
- Experience assembling cable looms, harnesses, battery-powered products, or electronic equipment
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics
- Basic fault-finding skills
- Experience within an ISO 9001 or controlled manufacturing environment
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble cable assemblies, wiring looms, and electronic sub-assemblies
- Carry out soldering, crimping, cable preparation, and wiring activities
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met
- Support functional testing of finished products
- Assist with the assessment and repair of customer returns (RMAs)
- Support prototype, development, and engineering activities when required
- Complete production records and documentation accurately
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Support general production activities as business needs require
