Full job description

McCann Logistics Ltd are looking for a motivated and commercially minded Logistics Operator to join our growing Road Freight and transport operation based in Immingham.

This is not a standard “sit and manage the diary” traffic operator role. We are looking for someone who can confidently develop new opportunities, grow carrier relationships, and generate additional revenue streams through our existing customer base and freight network.

You will have access to multiple freight platforms, established supplier relationships, and support from an experienced team — but we want someone proactive who can think commercially and contribute to business growth, not simply process instructions.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing and pricing subcontractors and haulage solutions
Building relationships with hauliers, customers, and partners
Managing and developing freight platform opportunities
Identifying opportunities to increase margin and win additional work
Maintaining high service levels and strong communication throughout

Requirements

Minimum 2 years’ experience within transport, logistics, or freight forwarding
Good understanding of UK and/or European road freight operations
Confident communicator with strong commercial awareness
Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure
Experience using freight exchange platforms beneficial
Motivated, organised, and driven to develop business opportunities
