What will your day look like?
As a North East Lincolnshire Council’s Housing Strategy Officer your days will be interesting and varied. You will spend time talking to residents, accommodation and support providers and council teams to understand supported housing and wider housing related legislative requirements, local needs, and strategies for improvement. Alongside this, you will review and analyse council and partner data to further understand local need.
You will use this information to develop, pitch and draft new or updated council strategies, including the Supported Housing Strategy and the council’s overarching Housing Strategy. You will advise senior council officers and elected members alike on what action we should take as a borough to ensure we meet the housing and supported needs of our most vulnerable residents, thinking innovatively and creatively to bring best practice and new ideas into the work you lead.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a skilled and experience individual who has experience of working supported housing, adult social care or homelessness, with sound knowledge of related national policy and legislation including the Housing Act, the Care Act and supported accommodation standards. They will be a strategic thinker with experience in drafting strategies and/or policies and will bring specialist knowledge and application of statutory and regulatory frameworks relevant to Supported Housing.
They will be able to build strong relationships with a range of partners internal and external to the council, working effectively to achieve positive outcomes for our residents. They will be a confident communicator with clear written and verbal communication, and they will have good organisational skills and the ability to manage their own workload.
