Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance

About the Role
Construo Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading construction and infrastructure contractor to recruit a Quantity Surveyor for a major project based in Cumbria.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join a high-profile infrastructure scheme, supporting the project team in delivering strong commercial performance across live works.
The successful candidate will play a key role in cost management, valuations, forecasting and contract administration while ensuring commercial risks are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Manage commercial resources to maximise project profitability and contract performance
Produce and submit valuations, claims and commercial reporting information
Monitor and forecast project costs and financial performance
Assess and manage commercial and contractual risks
Support effective contract control and commercial administration
Maximise cash flow through accurate measurement and valuation of works
Work closely with operational teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting documentation
Requirements
Degree qualified in a construction-related discipline
Previous experience in a commercial role within construction or infrastructure
Experience working for a main contractor within transportation or civil engineering projects desirable
Strong understanding of commercial management and contract administration
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Ability to work collaboratively within a project team
Full UK driving licence
