Job Description: Trainee Operative/Labourer (x2 Roles)

Location: Gordon Timber, Nairn, Scotland
Position Type: Full-time

Gordon Timber is a leading sawmill company based in Nairn, Scotland, with a proud tradition of delivering high-quality timber products. We are committed to maintaining a safe, efficient, and collaborative work environment and are seeking skilled individuals to join our team.

Role Overview

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join us as a Trainee Machine Operator. This is an excellent opportunity to begin or progress a career in the timber industry. Full training will be provided, including the chance to develop machine operating skills within a fast‑paced sawmill environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the operation of sawmill machinery and equipment (training provided)
Handle, sort, and stack timber products safely and efficiently
Support production teams with material preparation and workflow
Follow stock control processes for incoming and outgoing timber
Adhere to all health and safety guidelines at all times
Carry out any additional tasks needed to support the smooth running of the sawmill

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:
A positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
Ability to work as part of a team in a physically demanding role.
Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual tasks
Desirable:
Previous experience in industrial, or manufacturing environments
Interest in developing machinery operation skills

Training and Development
