You will support and assist the Executive Head Chef and Head Pastry Chef in effectively managing the pastry kitchen, ensuring the correct storage, preparation, cooking, and presentation of food across all food and beverage outlets in line with company standards.
As a Pastry Junior Sous Chef, you will play a key supporting role within our pastry team, working closely with the Head Pastry Chef and Executive Head Chef to deliver consistently high-quality desserts across all outlets. This is a hands-on position where you’ll help drive standards, contribute creative ideas, and support the smooth running of the pastry section while delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Support the preparation and production of high-quality pastry and dessert items for all food and beverage outlets
- Take responsibility for the pastry section during your shift, ensuring consistency and attention to detail
- Assist in developing new menu items, concepts, and seasonal desserts
- Supervise, train, and support junior pastry team members
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and health safety standards at all times
- Manage food quality, portion control, and stock to minimise waste
- Ensure all work areas and equipment are cleaned and maintained to a high standard
- Build positive working relationships across departments and support kitchen teamwork
As a Pastry Junior Sous Chef, you will be a passionate pastry professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and takes pride in delivering beautifully presented desserts. You’ll be organised, enthusiastic, and keen to develop your skills, while supporting and motivating others within the team to achieve high standards.
- Have previous experience working in pastry within a professional kitchen
- Be passionate about pastry, desserts, and current food trends
- Have experience contributing to menu development and creative ideas
- Understand the importance of food cost control and minimising waste
- Have some experience supervising or supporting junior team members
- Demonstrate a strong awareness of food hygiene and health safety
- Be reliable, motivated, and able to work well under pressure
