Overview
We are seeking a skilled Upholstery Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for restoring and refurbishing furniture and other fabric-covered items, ensuring high-quality finishes and durability. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for craftsmanship and attention to detail, working in a dynamic environment that values precision and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Repair, reupholster, and restore furniture pieces using various techniques and materials
Measure and cut fabric, foam, and padding to specifications
Operate hand tools, power tools, and sewing machines safely and effectively
Fabricate custom components as needed to meet client requirements
Assist with fabric selection and colour matching to achieve desired aesthetic outcomes
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety standards
Collaborate with team members to complete projects within deadlines

Skills

Mechanical knowledge relevant to upholstery equipment and tools
Proficiency in using hand tools such as staplers, scissors, and screwdrivers
Experience with power tools including drills, sanders, and sewing machines
Strong sewing skills for fabric assembly and finishing
Fabrication experience for creating custom parts or modifications
Warehouse experience is advantageous for handling materials and supplies efficiently
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when moving furniture or materials
Assembly skills for fitting components together accurately
Attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship throughout all projects
