Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced part-time Front of House Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our farm café. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for exceptional customer service, and a comprehensive understanding of food and beverage service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a dynamic team within a vibrant environment, ensuring guests receive outstanding experiences. The position involves supervising front-of-house staff alongside other supervisors, maintaining high standards of hospitality, and supporting food service operations.

Weekend availability is essential and additional hours will be available during peak holidays and during events.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the activities of front-of-house staff, including servers and hosts, to ensure smooth service delivery
Manage reservations, seating arrangements, and guest flow to optimise customer experience
Provide training and mentorship to team members, fostering a positive and professional work environment
Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and special requests with professionalism and tact
Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the front-of-house area in compliance with health regulations
Support baristas with beverage preparation as required, maintaining high standards of hospitality
Monitor stock levels of service supplies and coordinate with suppliers for replenishment

Requirements

Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting, ideally with team management responsibilities
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and food production processes
Background in hospitality or hotel environments is advantageous
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in service delivery
Ability to handle customer interactions professionally and efficiently
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food handling
Previous experience working as a barista
A friendly demeanour combined with excellent communication skills
